O Allah, bless our dwelling, and make it a refuge of faith and tranquility, and protect us from all evil and affliction.

Allahumma barik lana fi maskanina, waj'alhu ma'wa al-imani was-sakinah, wa ajirna min kulli su'in wa bala'.

When to Read

This is a beautiful dua to recite regularly, especially when moving into a new home, after any disagreements, or whenever you feel the need to invite more peace and barakah into your home. It's particularly fitting for newlyweds establishing their shared space.

How to Read

Recite this dua with sincere intention and a humble heart. Face the Qiblah if possible, raise your hands in supplication, and believe in Allah's power to grant peace and blessings. It can be recited individually or as a couple.

Virtues & Benefits

Invokes Allah's blessings (barakah) upon the home, making it a place filled with faith (iman) and inner peace (sakinah). It seeks divine protection from hardship and calamities, fostering a harmonious and secure environment for the family. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us to seek Allah's blessings in all aspects of our lives, including our homes. Allah Almighty says: "And He gave you of all you asked for. But if you count the favour of Allah, you never will be able to number them. Verily, man is indeed a wrong-doer, (and) a disbeliever." (Quran 14:34). This dua is an act of acknowledging Allah's dominion over our homes and seeking His perfect provision.
