Hasan HadithSunan Abi Dawud 4867

O Allah, I ask You for its goodness and the goodness of what You have decreed for it. And I seek refuge in You from its evil and the evil of what You have decreed for it. O Allah, I ask You for its provision and what is in its womb. O Allah, make her a protection for us and make us protectors for her. O Allah, bless us in her and bless her in us.

Allahumma inni as'aluka khayraha wa khayra ma jabaltaha 'alayhi, wa a'udhu bika min sharriha wa sharri ma jabaltaha 'alayhi. Allahumma inni as'aluka nafaqataha wa ma fi rahimiha. Allahumma ij'alha lana wiqa'an waj'alna laha ri'a'an. Allahumma barik lana fiha wa barik laha fina.

Ensure you have a clear intention and are seeking the best for both individuals and the future family.

Virtues & Benefits

This dua is a profound expression of seeking Allah's help in establishing a righteous and blessed marriage. It acknowledges that true success and protection come only from Him. Source & Authentication

The narration is about the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) teaching a man who intended to marry a woman to say: 'Allahumma inni as'aluka khayraha wa khayra ma jabaltaha 'alayhi, wa a'udhu bika min sharriha wa sharri ma jabaltaha 'alayhi. Allahumma inni as'aluka nafaqataha wa ma fi rahimiha. Allahumma ij'alha lana wiqa'an waj'alna laha ri'a'an. Allahumma barik lana fiha wa barik laha fina.' (O Allah, I ask You for its goodness and the goodness of what You have decreed for it. And I seek refuge in You from its evil and the evil of what You have decreed for it. O Allah, I ask You for its provision and what is in its womb. O Allah, make her a protection for us and make us protectors for her. O Allah, bless us in her and bless her in us.)
