O Allah, unite their hearts, mend the matters between them, guide them to the paths of peace, adorn them with God-consciousness, and gather them upon the Sunnah of Your Prophet ﷺ.
Allahumma allif bayna qulubihima, wa aslih dhata baynihima, wahdihima subul as-salam, wa zayyin-huma bit-taqwa, wa jami'huma 'ala sunnati Nabiyyika ﷺ.
When to Read
This beautiful dua can be recited by the couple themselves, their parents, or anyone attending a wedding. It's particularly poignant during the wedding ceremony itself, in the days leading up to the marriage, or as a regular supplication for an existing couple seeking to strengthen their bond and deepen their love for Allah and each other.
How to Read
Recite this dua with sincerity and focus, visualizing the blessings of Allah encompassing the marriage. Ideally, face the Qiblah, raise your hands (as is customary for supplication), and pour your heart out to Allah. You can repeat it multiple times, asking Allah to bless the couple with His divine love, mercy, and guidance. The intent behind the dua is as crucial as the words themselves.
Virtues & Benefits
This supplication encapsulates the core desires for a truly blessed marital union. It asks Allah to foster deep love and harmony between the spouses ('unite their hearts'), resolve any potential conflicts ('mend the matters between them'), guide them towards a life pleasing to Him ('guide them to the paths of peace'), and imbue their lives with piety ('adorn them with God-consciousness'). Finally, it seeks for their union to be built upon the Prophetic way, ensuring its stability and success in this life and the hereafter. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ himself taught similar supplications, highlighting the immense importance of dua in establishing and nurturing strong, God-centered relationships.
