O Allah, Lord of mankind, remove this suffering, heal (him/her/it), You are the Healer. There is no healing except Your healing, a healing that leaves no disease behind.
Allahumma Rabb an-nas, adh-hib al-ba's, ishfi anta ash-shafi, la shifa'a illa shifa'uka, shifa'an la yughadiru saqaman.
When to Read
This powerful dua is particularly potent when recited during the blessed time of Tahajjud, the voluntary night prayer. The stillness of the night, when the world is asleep and one's heart is most receptive, is an ideal moment to turn to Allah with sincerity and humility, especially when facing the persistent challenge of a chronic illness. Make it a consistent part of your Tahajjud supplications.
How to Read
Recite this dua with utmost sincerity and conviction, directing your plea to Allah alone. While standing in prayer during Tahajjud or during your personal supplication (dua) after completing the prayer, raise your hands and implore Allah. It is recommended to place your hand on the area of pain or discomfort while reciting, visualizing yourself receiving complete healing from Allah. Repeat it multiple times, with earnestness and hope.
Virtues & Benefits
This dua is a direct supplication taught by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ for healing. Its benefits are immense, invoking Allah's mercy and His attribute as Ash-Shafi (The Healer). Reciting it during Tahajjud amplifies its potency, as this is a time when Allah descends to the lowest heaven and answers the calls of those who seek Him. It instills hope, strengthens reliance on Allah (tawakkul), and reminds us that ultimate healing comes only from Him.

Hisham bin Urwah narrated from his father, from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that when a person complained to the Prophet ﷺ about a wound or a burn, he would say this dua: 'Allahumma Rabb an-nas, adh-hib al-ba's, ishfi anta ash-shafi, la shifa'a illa shifa'uka, shifa'an la yughadiru saqaman.' (O Allah, Lord of mankind, remove this suffering, heal (him/her/it), You are the Healer. There is no healing except Your healing, a healing that leaves no disease behind.)
