O Allah, I seek refuge in You from distress and sorrow, I seek refuge in You from incapacity and laziness, I seek refuge in You from cowardice and stinginess, and I seek refuge in You from the burden of debt and from being overcome by men.
Allahumma inni a'udhu bika minal-hammi wal-hazan, wa a'udhu bika minal-'ajzi wal-kasal, wa a'udhu bika minal-jubni wal-bukhl, wa a'udhu bika min ghalabatid-dayni wa qahrir-rijal.

Virtues & Benefits
This dua is a comprehensive request for refuge from many afflictions that can accompany or lead to debt, including worry, sadness, weakness, laziness, fear, and miserliness. By seeking refuge specifically from the 'burden of debt and being overcome by men' (ghalabatid-dayni wa qahrir-rijal), the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was teaching us a direct way to ask Allah for His assistance in managing our financial obligations and preserving our dignity. It’s a reminder that true relief comes from Allah, who can open doors of provision and ease our struggles.

Narrated Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri: One day the Prophet (ﷺ) entered the mosque. He saw a man from among his companions other than Abu Bakr and Umar. He was called Abu Qatada. The Prophet (ﷺ) asked him, "What is your reason for not sitting with us?" He replied, "O Allah's Messenger! I am in debt." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Say: Allahumma inni a'udhu bika minal-hammi wal-hazan, wa a'udhu bika minal-'ajzi wal-kasal, wa a'udhu bika minal-jubni wal-bukhl, wa a'udhu bika min ghalabatid-dayni wa qahrir-rijal." (O Allah, I seek refuge in You from distress and sorrow, I seek refuge in You from incapacity and laziness, I seek refuge in You from cowardice and stinginess, and I seek refuge in You from the burden of debt and from being overcome by men). Abu Qatada said, "I said this, and Allah removed my debt." Sahih al-Bukhari 6369
