بِسْمِ اللَّهِ، تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَى اللَّهِ، وَلَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ
In the name of Allah, I place my trust in Allah, and there is no might nor power except with Allah.
Bismillahi, tawakkaltu 'alallahi, wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa billah
When to Read
This powerful declaration is perfect for the moments you step into something new – whether it's starting a new job, launching a business, beginning a new project, or even embarking on a journey. Recite it as you take those first steps, before you engage in the new activity, to imbue your actions with blessings and divine assistance.
How to Read
Recite this supplication with sincere intention and full reliance on Allah. The words themselves are a declaration of faith: acknowledging Allah's name as you begin ('Bismillah'), entrusting your affairs to Him ('tawakkaltu 'alallahi'), and recognizing that true strength and ability come only from Him ('wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa billah'). Speak these words with conviction, internalizing their meaning.
Virtues & Benefits
This dua encapsulates a complete surrender to Allah's plan while actively engaging in life. When you say this, you are not passively waiting; you are actively moving forward with the knowledge that ultimate success and protection are in Allah's hands. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught this specifically for when one leaves their home, but its meaning is universal for any undertaking, seeking Allah's blessing and safeguarding against any potential harm or difficulty. It is a shield against the unseen and a key to unlocking ease.
Source & Authentication
Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'When a person leaves his house and says: 'Bismillahi, tawakkaltu 'alallahi, wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa billah,' it will be said to him: 'You have been guided, defended, and your need is fulfilled.' So the devils turn away from him, and one of the devils says: 'How can you deal with a man who has been guided, defended, and his need is fulfilled?'
