O Allah, guide me in it to righteous deeds, and fulfill my needs for the helpless and desperate in it. Make my affair in it among the easy ones, accept my excuse, forgive my sin, accept my repentance, grant me Your mercy and blessings. Suffice me from the matters of this world and the Hereafter that worry me. Grant me certainty in it, and increase me in knowledge and help. Make it a blessing upon me in all things.

Allahumma ihdini fihi li-a'malis-salihin, wa-qdi li fihi hawa'ijal-'ajzi wal-ya's, wa-j'al amri fihi minal-'asirin, wa-qbal ma'dhirati, wa-ghfir li dhanbi, wa-qbal tawbati, wa-j'al rahmatib wa-barakati, wa-kafini ma ahamma-ni min amr-id-dunya wal-akhirah, wa-hab li fihil-yaqin, wa-zidni fih 'ilman wa 'awnan, wa-j'alhu barakatan 'alayya fi kulli shay'.

Whether it's awaiting the arrival of a child, or as you adjust to life with a newborn, reciting this can help set a positive intention and seek divine support. It’s for those moments of transition when you feel the weight of responsibility and the immense joy, needing strength and guidance.

How to Read

Recite this with sincerity, raising your hands as you begin, a practice known from the Sunnah when making supplication. Focus on the meaning of each phrase, internalizing the request for Allah's guidance, help, and blessings. It’s best recited in a state of purity, facing the Qiblah if possible, after completing your obligatory prayers or at other times when supplication is encouraged, such as after Asr on a Friday, or during the night. Imagine Allah (SWT) listening and responding to your heartfelt plea.

Virtues & Benefits

This comprehensive dua seeks Allah's assistance in navigating the challenges and responsibilities of a new phase. It asks for guidance towards good deeds, the fulfillment of needs that arise from vulnerability and hope, and ease in managing affairs. The request for acceptance of excuses, forgiveness, and repentance highlights the human need for continuous connection with Allah. Seeking His mercy, blessings, and sufficiency for worldly and otherworldly concerns is vital. The ultimate aim is to attain certainty, increased knowledge, and divine help, ensuring this new phase becomes a source of blessing. While this specific wording isn't attributed to a widely documented hadith with a specific name, its essence aligns with the general supplications of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ for guidance, assistance, and blessings in all matters.
