New Beginnings
Hasan HadithSunan Abi Dawud 5083

In the name of Allah, upon myself, my family, and my wealth. O Allah, make me act with a sound heart and a truthful tongue. I seek refuge in You from the evil of this world and its afflictions, and I seek refuge in You from the evil of the Hereafter and its deeds, and I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I see and what I do not see.

Bismillahi 'ala nafsi wa ahli wa mali. Allahumma-staa'milni bi qalbin saleem, wa lisanin ṣādiq, wa a'udhu bika min sharri-d-dunya wa ba'siha, wa a'udhu bika min sharri-l-akhirati wa 'amaliha, wa a'udhu bika min sharri ma ara wa ma la ara.

Source & Authentication

Narrated by Abdullah bin Mughaffal (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'Whoever says: 'Bismillahi 'ala nafsi wa ahli wa mali. Allahumma-staa'milni bi qalbin saleem, wa lisanin ṣādiq, wa a'udhu bika min sharri-d-dunya wa ba'siha, wa a'udhu bika min sharri-l-akhirati wa 'amaliha, wa a'udhu bika min sharri ma ara wa ma la ara.' – 'In the name of Allah, upon myself, my family, and my wealth. O Allah, make me act with a sound heart and a truthful tongue. I seek refuge in You from the evil of this world and its afflictions, and I seek refuge in You from the evil of the Hereafter and its deeds, and I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I see and what I do not see.' – Allah will say to the angels: 'Indeed, My servant has sought refuge in Me, and I have granted him My protection.'
