Uthman ibn Affan (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'Whoever says three times in the morning: *Bismillahilladhi la yadhurru ma'asmihi shay'un fil-ardi wa la fis-sama'i wa Huwas-Sami'ul-'Aleem* (In the name of Allah, with whose name nothing on earth or in the heavens can cause harm, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing), he will not be afflicted by any sudden calamity until the morning. And whoever says it in the evening, he will not be afflicted by any sudden calamity until the morning.'
