Daily Morning Routine
Sahih HadithSunan Abu Dawud 5095

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ، تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَى اللَّهِ، وَلاَ حَوْلَ وَلاَ قُوَّةَ إِلاَّ بِاللَّهِ.

In the name of Allah, I place my trust in Allah, and there is no might nor power except with Allah.

Bismillahi, tawakkaltu 'alallahi, wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa billah.

When to Read

Recite this dua right before stepping out of your home in the morning, after having prepared to leave for your day's activities.

How to Read

Utter these words with sincerity and a heart full of reliance on Allah. As you say 'Bismillah,' you acknowledge that your journey begins with His name. 'Tawakkaltu 'alallah' signifies your complete trust in His plan. Finally, 'wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa billah' affirms that all strength and ability come solely from Him, reminding you that no matter the challenges you face, Allah is sufficient.

Virtues & Benefits

This beautiful supplication carries a profound promise. When you recite it before leaving your home, you are divinely protected. An announcer proclaims: 'You have been guided, you have been sufficed, and you have been protected.' The devils are driven away from you, unable to approach.

Source & Authentication

Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'When a man leaves his house, he says: Bismillahi, tawakkaltu 'alallahi, wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa billah. Then it is said to him: 'You have been guided, you have been sufficed, and you have been protected.' So the devils turn away from him. One of the devils says: 'How can you get to a man whom he has been guided, he has been sufficed, and he has been protected?'
