When to Read

This powerful dua is recommended to be recited right after waking up in the morning, before you begin your daily interactions. It sets a beautiful tone for your day, seeking Allah's blessing in all your endeavors, including how you engage with others. Imagine yourself just opening your eyes, taking a moment to connect with your Creator before the world rushes in.

How to Read

Recite this dua with sincere intention and focus. Imagine the meaning of each word: asking Allah for knowledge that benefits you and others, provision that is pure and lawful, and deeds that are accepted by Him. It’s a personal supplication, so let your heart be present as you speak these words.

Virtues & Benefits

By asking for beneficial knowledge, you're essentially asking Allah to guide your mind and your interactions, making sure your words and actions are wise and constructive. Seeking goodly provision implies asking for the means to sustain yourself in a way that is pleasing to Allah, which often influences how we treat those we interact with. Finally, asking for acceptable deeds covers everything you do throughout the day, including your interactions with people, ensuring they are done with sincerity and for Allah's pleasure.

Source & Authentication

Narrated by Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her): Whenever the Prophet (peace be upon him) woke up in the morning, he would say: 'Glory be to Allah! The Most Praiseworthy! O Allah, I ask You for knowledge that is pleasing, and for sustenance that is pure and lawful, and for deeds that are accepted.' (This wording is from a similar hadith in Sunan Ibn Majah, while Sahih Muslim refers to the content as mentioned above.)
