Daily Morning Routine
Sahih HadithSahih Muslim 753

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا، وَرِزْقًا طَيِّبًا، وَعَمَلًا مُتَقَبَّلًا.

O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, pure provision, and deeds that are accepted.

Allahumma inni as'aluka 'ilman naafi'an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa 'amalan mutaqabbalan.

When to Read

This powerful supplication is recommended to be recited immediately after the obligatory Fajr (dawn) prayer. It sets the tone for the entire day, seeking divine assistance in navigating both spiritual and material aspects of life.

How to Read

Recite this dua with sincere intention and focus after completing the Fajr prayer. It is best to say it while still seated in your prayer area, facing the qiblah if possible, and with a hopeful heart that Allah (SWT) will grant your requests.

Virtues & Benefits

Reciting this dua after Fajr is a profound way to align your day with Allah's blessings. Seeking 'beneficial knowledge' helps you learn and grow in understanding of the Deen and dunya. Asking for 'pure provision' ensures that your sustenance is lawful and blessed, avoiding any ill-gotten gains. Most importantly, praying for 'accepted deeds' means that whatever you strive to do throughout the day – be it worship, work, or serving others – will be acknowledged and rewarded by Allah (SWT). This supplication is a comprehensive request for a day that is both spiritually fulfilling and practically productive.

Source & Authentication

Ammar bin Yasir (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) taught me these words and said: 'Indeed, supplication is beneficial for what has occurred and what has not occurred. It is beneficial for calamities that have come down and those that have not. So, you servants of Allah, adhere to supplication.' Umm Salama (may Allah be pleased with her) said: When the Prophet (peace be upon him) performed the morning prayer, he would say: 'O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, pure provision, and accepted deeds.'
