The Morning Pledge: Allahumma Anta Rabbi

Morning Adhkar
Sahih HadithSahih al-Bukhari 6306

O Allah, You are my Lord, there is no god but You. You created me and I am Your servant. I remain on Your covenant and Your promise as best as I can. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done. I acknowledge Your favour upon me, and I admit my sin. Forgive me, for indeed, no one forgives sins except You.

Recite this dua with sincere intention and a humble heart, preferably as soon as you wake up in the morning. Reflect on each phrase: acknowledging Allah as your Creator and Lord, affirming your commitment to His commands, seeking refuge from wrongdoing, and admitting your need for His forgiveness. It's a personal conversation with your Creator.

Narrated Shaddad bin Aus (may Allah be pleased with him): I listened to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) delivering a speech and saying: 'The best way of asking for forgiveness from Allah is to say: **Allahumma Anta Rabbi la ilaha illa Anta, khalaqtani wa ana 'abduk, wa ana 'ala 'ahdika wa wa'dika mastata'tu. A'udhu bika min sharri ma sana'tu, abu'u laka bini'matika 'alayya, wa abu'u bidhanbi faghfirli, fa innahu la yaghfirudh-dhunuba illa Anta.** (O Allah, You are my Lord, there is no god but You. You created me and I am Your servant. I remain on Your covenant and Your promise as best as I can. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done. I acknowledge Your favour upon me, and I admit my sin. Forgive me, for indeed, no one forgives sins except You.) Then he added: 'If somebody recites it during the day and dies before evening, he will be from the people of Paradise. And if somebody recites it during the night and dies before morning, he will be from the people of Paradise.' — Sahih al-Bukhari 6306
