Whoever says it three times in the evening, will not be afflicted by any calamity until the morning.' (Sunan Abi Dawud 5088, Sahih al-Bukhari 7/156). Source & Authentication
Narrated by Uthman ibn Affan (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Whoever says: **Bismillahilladhi la yadurru ma'asmihi shay'un fil-ardi wa la fis-sama'i, wa Huwas-Samee'ul-Aleem** (In the name of Allah, with Whose name nothing can cause harm on earth nor in the heavens, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing) – three times, will not be afflicted by any calamity until the morning. And whoever says it in the morning three times, will not be afflicted by any calamity until the evening. And it was testing (i.e., he was afflicted by something at that time), so that man began to look at him, and Allah's Messenger ﷺ said: 'There is nothing to be alarmed about. I said it just like I narrated it. But I was never the equal of such a man as him (in terms of piety), until the calamity that afflicted him.' Uthman said: 'I never experienced such a thing, but then it was narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) like this.'
