Virtues & Benefits
This supplication is a comprehensive plea for **physical well-being**, specifically safeguarding the senses of hearing and sight. By asking Allah for 'afiyah (well-being and protection), we acknowledge our complete dependence on Him. Protecting our hearing allows us to listen to beneficial knowledge and the Quran, while protecting our sight enables us to see the signs of Allah in creation and avoid forbidden things. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us this dua as a means of seeking divine preservation for these critical faculties.
