In the name of Allah, with Whose name nothing on earth or in the heavens can cause harm, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.
Bismillahilladhi la yadhurru ma'asmihi shay'un fil-ardi wa la fis-sama'i wa huwas-Samee'ul-Aleem
When to Read
This powerful dua is recommended to be recited in the morning, after Fajr prayer, as part of our daily Adhkar (remembrance of Allah). Reciting it as the day begins sets a protective barrier around us, inviting Allah's safeguarding presence into our lives. It's especially relevant before we engage with our phones or social media, creating a conscious shield against potential digital harms.
How to Read
Recite this dua with sincere intention and conviction, picturing Allah's protection enveloping you. Ensure you say it clearly and with understanding of its meaning. It is typically recited three times in the morning. Try to say it before the rush of the day, perhaps sitting peacefully after Fajr prayer, before checking your notifications.
Virtues & Benefits
This supplication is a profound shield against all forms of harm, whether physical, spiritual, or indeed, the subtle yet potent harms that can arise from our digital interactions. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us this dua as a comprehensive safeguard. When we invoke Allah's name in this manner, we are affirming our complete reliance on Him and acknowledging His absolute power to protect us from any ill, including the anxieties, comparisons, misinformation, and time-wasting that social media can bring. Reciting it ensures that even if dangers approach, they will be repelled by Allah's will.

Narrated by Abdullah bin Ghannam: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'Whoever says in the morning: 'Bismillahilladhi la yadhurru ma'asmihi shay'un fil-ardi wa la fis-sama'i wa huwas-Samee'ul-Aleem' (In the name of Allah, with Whose name nothing on earth or in the heavens can cause harm, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing), then a affliction will not befall him until the morning. And whoever says it in the morning, then he will not be afflicted by a calamity until the evening.'
