بِسْمِ اللهِ الَّذِي لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ

In the name of Allah, with Whose name nothing on earth or in the heavens can cause harm, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.

Bismillahilladhi la yadhurru ma'asmihi shay'un fil-ardi wa la fis-sama'i wa Huwas-Samee'ul-Aleem

When to Read

This powerful dua should be recited in the morning, after Fajr prayer, and again in the evening after Maghrib prayer. It's a shield against all forms of harm, whether from visible enemies or unseen forces like evil whispers, jinn, or accidents.

How to Read

Recite it with sincerity and conviction, fully understanding its meaning. Imagine Allah's protection enveloping you as you utter these words. It's recommended to say it three times in the morning and three times in the evening to ensure its full benefit.

Virtues & Benefits

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ promised that whoever recites this dua three times in the morning will not be afflicted by any sudden calamity until evening, and whoever recites it three times in the evening will not be afflicted by any sudden calamity until morning. This includes protection from physical harm, ill intentions of people, and the mischief of Shaytan and other unseen evils. It is a comprehensive supplication for well-being and divine safeguarding.

Narrated by Uthman bin Affan (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever says: 'Bismillahilladhi la yadhurru ma'asmihi shay'un fil-ardi wa la fis-sama'i wa Huwas-Samee'ul-Aleem' (In the name of Allah, with Whose name nothing on earth or in the heavens can cause harm, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing) three times every morning, will not be afflicted by any sudden calamity until the morning of the next day. And whoever says it three times every evening will not be afflicted by any sudden calamity until the morning of the next day." (Sahih Muslim 2708, Sahih al-Bukhari 7/146)
