اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا، وَرِزْقًا طَيِّبًا، وَعَمَلًا مُتَقَبَّلًا
O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, goodly provision, and acceptable deeds.
Allahumma inni as'aluka 'ilman naafi'an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa 'amalan mutaqabbalan
When to Read
This dua is recited in the morning after Fajr prayer, or upon waking up for the day. It sets the intention for a day focused on seeking Allah's guidance, blessings, and acceptance of our efforts.
How to Read
Recite this dua with sincerity and a clear intention. Focus on the meaning of each phrase: asking for knowledge that benefits the heart and actions, provision that is pure and lawful, and deeds that are accepted by Allah. Raising your hands slightly during the dua is also a Sunnah practice for supplication.
Virtues & Benefits
This supplication is taught by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ himself as a way to begin the day productively. By asking for beneficial knowledge, we seek understanding that increases our faith and guides our actions. Requesting goodly provision ensures that our sustenance is lawful and a source of blessing. Finally, asking for acceptable deeds is the ultimate goal, as it is Allah's acceptance that truly matters. This holistic request strengthens our reliance (tawakkul) on Allah, as we are actively seeking His help in all aspects of our day.
