Allahumma inni asbahtu ush-hiduka (Morning Testimony Dua)

Morning Adhkar
Hasan HadithSunan Abi Dawud 5070

O Allah, I have entered the morning, bearing witness to You, and to the bearers of Your Throne, Your angels, and all of Your creation, that You are Allah, there is no god but You, alone, without partner, and that Muhammad is Your servant and Your messenger.

Virtues & Benefits

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ mentioned a profound reward for those who recite this dua. He said: 'Whoever says this in the morning, Allah will grant him freedom from Hellfire for that day.' (Sunan Abi Dawud 5070). Imagine that! A whole day's protection from the Fire, simply by bearing witness to Allah's uniqueness and His Messenger's mission.

Source & Authentication

Anas narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Allah will hold accountable the bearer of His Throne and those who surround it, each time they glorify Him. And they will say: 'Glory be to You, O Allah! We have not worshipped You as You ought to be worshipped.' Then Allah will ask them, and they will say: 'Glory be to You! How could we worship You as You ought to be worshipped, when You are our Lord?' Then the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Allah will say: 'You speak the truth.' Then Dawud (a narrator) said: 'Allah will ask the bearer of His Throne: 'What do they say?' And he will say: 'They say: Glory be to You! We have not worshipped You as You ought to be worshipped.' Then Allah will say: 'There is no god but I. I have created creation and I am its Lord. What do My servants say?' Then the bearer of the Throne will say: 'They say: Allah is our Lord, and Muhammad is His servant and messenger.' Then Allah will say: 'They have spoken the truth. O Allah, I have entered the morning, bearing witness to You, and to the bearers of Your Throne, Your angels, and all of Your creation, that You are Allah, there is no god but You, alone, without partner, and that Muhammad is Your servant and Your messenger.' Then Allah will say: 'O so-and-so, I have granted you freedom from Hellfire for this day.'
