O Allah, grant my soul its taqwa (consciousness of You), and purify it, for You are the Best of those who purify it. You are its Protector and its Guardian. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from knowledge that does not benefit, from a heart that does not feel humble, from a soul that is not satisfied, and from a supplication that is not answered.

It helps you ground yourself in seeking Allah's help and purifying your intentions, rather than relying solely on outward appearance.
How to Read
Stand before the mirror, look at yourself, and recite this dua with sincerity and presence of heart. Virtues & Benefits
This dua is profoundly effective for building inner confidence because it shifts your focus from self-admiration to seeking Allah's help for inner purification and strength. By asking Allah to grant your soul taqwa and purify it, you acknowledge that true confidence and effectiveness come from Him. Seeking refuge from useless knowledge, unfeeling hearts, insatiable souls, and unanswered prayers addresses potential internal obstacles to success and spiritual well-being, ensuring your efforts are aligned with what is beneficial and pleasing to Allah.

(Sahih Muslim 1951).
