Dua for the Strength to Embrace Solitude for Self-Discovery and Spiritual Growth

Loneliness & Isolation
Sahih HadithSahih Muslim 753

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا، وَرِزْقًا طَيِّبًا، وَعَمَلًا مُتَقَبَّلًا.

O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, good provisions, and accepted deeds.

Allahumma inni as'aluka 'ilman naafi'an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa 'amalan mutaqabbalan.

When to Read

This dua is particularly powerful when you intentionally seek quiet time for reflection, self-assessment, or deepening your connection with Allah. It can be recited at the start of a solitary session, during tahajjud prayer when the world is still, or any moment you feel the need to reorient yourself spiritually.

How to Read

Recite this with sincerity, focusing on the meaning of each request. Picture Allah's immense knowledge, His boundless blessings, and His acceptance of our efforts. Imagine yourself seeking to improve your understanding of faith, earn sustenance in a pure way, and perform actions that genuinely please Him. Raise your hands in supplication as you would in any other dua.

Virtues & Benefits

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ would often say this dua in the morning. It encapsulates seeking the best in three crucial areas of life: knowledge that benefits the hereafter, sustenance that is pure and lawful, and deeds that are accepted by Allah. Embracing solitude allows us the space to truly internalize these requests and work towards them, making our efforts more focused and our spiritual journey more profound.
