O Allah, I am Your servant, son of Your servant, son of Your female servant. My forelock is in Your hand. Your command over me is executed. Your decree concerning me is just. I ask You by every name that You have called Yourself, or revealed to one of Your creation, or sent down in Your Book, or kept to Yourself in the knowledge of the unseen with You, that You make the Qur'an the springtime of my heart, the light of my chest, the banisher of my sadness, and the reliever of my anxiety.
Allahumma inni 'abduka, ibnu 'abdika, ibnu amatik, nasiyati biyadika, madin fiyya hukmuka, 'adlun fiyya qada'uka, as'aluka bikulli ismin huwa lak, sammayta bihi nafsaka, aw 'allamtahu ahadan min khalqika, aw anzaltahu fi kitabika, aw ista'tharta bihi fi 'ilmil-ghaybi 'indaka, an taj'ala al-Qur'ana rabi'a qalbi, wa nura sadri, wa jala'a huzni, wa dhahaba hammi.

Virtues & Benefits
This beautiful dua, taught by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, directly addresses feelings of sadness and anxiety. By asking Allah to make the Qur'an the remedy for these issues, we are seeking divine solace and strength. It reminds us that even in isolation, we are never truly alone when connected to Allah through His Book. The Prophet ﷺ promised that Allah would remove sadness and anxiety for the one who recites this dua. (Reported by Ahmad and others).
Source & Authentication
It was narrated from Ibn Mas'ud that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: "No person suffers any anxiety or grief, and says: (Allahumma inni 'abduka, ibnu 'abdika, ibnu amatik, nasiyati biyadika, madin fiyya hukmuka, 'adlun fiyya qada'uka, as'aluka bikulli ismin huwa lak, sammayta bihi nafsaka, aw 'allamtahu ahadan min khalqika, aw anzaltahu fi kitabika, aw ista'tharta bihi fi 'ilmil-ghaybi 'indaka, an taj'ala al-Qur'ana rabi'a qalbi, wa nura sadri, wa jala'a huzni, wa dhahaba hammi.) 'O Allah, I am Your servant, son of Your servant, son of Your female servant. My forelock is in Your hand. Your command over me is executed. Your decree concerning me is just. I ask You by every name that You have called Yourself, or revealed to one of Your creation, or sent down in Your Book, or kept to Yourself in the knowledge of the unseen with You, that You make the Qur'an the springtime of my heart, the light of my chest, the banisher of my sadness, and the reliever of my anxiety.' - But Allah will take away his anxiety and grief, and replace it with that which is good." [Ahmad narrated it in his Musnad, vol. 4, p. 407, and said: "This is a Hasan Hadith."]
