O Allah, I ask You to enable me to do good deeds and abandon evil deeds, and to love the poor. I ask You to forgive me and have mercy on me. And when You intend to bring a trial upon a people, then let me die [your death] without having been subjected to it. I ask You for Your love, and the love of those who love You, and the love of deeds which bring me closer to Your love.
Allahumma inni as'aluka fi'la khayratika, wa tark munakaratika, wa hubbal masakin, wa an taghfir li wa tarhamani, wa idha aradta fitnata qawmin fatawaffani ghaira maftun. As'aluka hubbaka, wa hubba man yuhibbuka, wa hubba 'amalin yuqarribuni ila hubbik.
