Dua for Inner Peace and Connection When Socially Isolated Due to Chronic Illness

Loneliness & Isolation
Hasan HadithMusnad Ahmad 3704

O Allah, I am Your servant, son of Your servant, son of Your female servant. My forelock is in Your hand. Your command over me is ever effective. Your decree concerning me is just. I ask You by every name that You have called Yourself, or revealed to any of Your creation, or sent down in Your Book, or kept exclusively to Yourself in the knowledge of the Unseen that You possess, to make the Quran the springtime of my heart, the light of my chest, the banisher of my sadness, and the remover of my anxieties.

Allahumma inni 'abduka, ibnu 'abdika, ibnu amatik, nasiyati biyadika, madin fiyya hukkumuka, 'adlun fiyya qada'uka, as'aluka bikulli ismin huwa lak, sammayta bihi nafsaka, aw 'allamtahu ahadan min khalqika, aw anzaltahu fi kitabika, aw ista'tharta bihi fi 'ilmil-ghaibi 'indaka, an taj'ala al-Qur'ana rabi'a qalbi, wa nura sadri, wa jila'a huzni, wa dhahaba hammi.

Source & Authentication

‘Abdullah ibn Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: ‘No one afflicted by any calamity can recite this dua but Allah (SWT) will rid him of the affliction, give him the reward for it, and grant him the best of it in its stead.’ He was asked: 'O Messenger of Allah, should we learn these words?' He said: ‘Yes, of course. Anyone who hears them, learns them, and teaches them to those who recite them after him, should say them and keep them in their houses.’ I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, what should we say?' He said: 'Say: O Allah, I am Your servant, son of Your servant, son of Your slave-woman. My forelock is in Your hand. Your command over me is past, and Your decree concerning me is just. I ask You by every name that You have called Yourself with, which You have taught to any one of Your creation, or which You have revealed in Your Book, or which You have preserved in the knowledge of the Unseen with You, that You make the Qur’an the life of my heart and the light of my breast, and a departure for my grief and a cease for my worry.' – I, or someone else, said: 'Except that Allah (SWT) will remove his grief and compensate him with that which is better than it.'
