โœฆ

My Lord, forgive me and my parents and whoever enters my home as a believer and the believing men and women. And do not increase the wrongdoers except in destruction.

Rabbi ighfir li wa liwalidayya wa liman dakhala baytiya mu'minan wa lilmu'minina walmu'minati wa la tazidid-dhahilimina illatabara

When to Read

This powerful dua, from Prophet Nuh (Noah) (peace be upon him), is incredibly encompassing. While reciting it, focus your intention on seeking Allah's forgiveness for yourself and your family, and then extend that plea to include all believers. As you do so, also pray for positive relationships and understanding with everyone around you, including your non-Muslim colleagues. Itโ€™s particularly beneficial to recite this when you feel a disconnect or a lack of harmony in your workplace, or simply as a general practice to foster peace and good relations in all aspects of your life.

How to Read

Recite this dua with sincerity and a hopeful heart. Raise your hands in supplication as you would during prayer. Begin by acknowledging your own shortcomings and asking for Allah's forgiveness, then extend it to your parents and all believers. Importantly, as you pray for believers, broaden your intention to include seeking Allah's help in fostering kindness, mutual respect, and understanding with your non-Muslim colleagues. Visualize a workplace where everyone coexists peacefully and cooperatively. Make this a regular habit, perhaps after your obligatory prayers or at a quiet moment during the day.

Virtues & Benefits

This comprehensive dua carries immense weight. By asking for forgiveness for oneself and all believers, we are seeking Allah's mercy and purification, which in turn can positively influence our interactions with others. Prophet Nuh's (peace be upon him) plea is a testament to the importance of seeking divine guidance in all matters, including establishing positive human connections. When we pray for the well-being of others and for harmony, Allah (Glory be to Him) opens doors to better relationships and eases difficulties. This dua helps in cultivating patience, empathy, and a spirit of cooperation, essential for navigating diverse workplaces and building bridges of understanding, even across different beliefs.
