Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: 'O Messenger of Allah, what is it that prevents the people from asking Allah when they are in the desert and the like? He said: 'The people ask about the good, and when the likes of the cattle are brought to them, they do not find anyone who asks for them, and when the night comes, no one asks for them.' Then the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'When one of you enters his house, let him say: 'O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, good provision, and deeds that are accepted.' And when he goes to bed, let him say the like of that, and let him be the last of them to speak.' (Sahih Muslim 7:72)
