Dua for Comfort and Connection When Witnessing Happy Gatherings from Afar

Loneliness & Isolation
Hasan HadithJami' at-Tirmidhi 3233

O Allah, I ask You to enable me to do good deeds and abandon evil deeds, and to love the poor. I ask You to forgive me and have mercy on me. And if You intend to try a people with tribulation, take me to Yourself without my being tried by it. I ask You for Your love, and the love of those who love You, and the love of deeds which will bring me closer to Your love.

Allahumma inni as'aluka fi'la khayratika, wa tark munki ratika, wa hubbal masakin, wa an taghfir li wa tarhamani, wa idha aradta fitnatan fi qawmin fa tawaffani ilayha ghayra maftun. Wa as'aluka hubbaka, wa hubba man yuhibbuka, wa hubba 'amalin yuqarribuni ila hubbik.

Source & Authentication

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: 'Ask Allah for His love, and ask Him for the love of those who love Him, and ask Him for the love of deeds that bring one closer to His love. Ask Allah for His love, and ask Him for the love of those who love Him, and ask Him for the love of deeds that bring one closer to His love. Ask Allah for His love, and ask Him for the love of those who love Him, and ask Him for the love of deeds that bring one closer to His love.' Then he mentioned three things and said: 'I ask You for love of You, and love of those who love You, and love of deeds that bring one closer to You.' And he said: 'This world is the possession of the intelligent and the foolish. Whoever is intelligent, he enjoys it, and whoever is foolish, he does not enjoy it.' Narrated by Abdullah bin Imarah, from Hisham bin Sa'd, from Zayd bin Aslam, from Abu Umamah, from the Prophet (peace be upon him). At-Tirmidhi said: This is a gharib hadith, and this is the more correct narration [of the hadith].
