Dua for Comfort and Connection in Gatherings

Loneliness & Isolation
Hasan HadithMusnad Ahmad 3701

O Allah, I am Your servant, son of Your servant, son of Your maidservant. My forelock is in Your hand. Your command over me is ever effective, and Your judgment upon me is just. I ask You by every name that You have called Yourself, or revealed in Your Book, or taught to any of Your creation, or kept to Yourself in the knowledge of the unseen which You possess, to make the Qur'an the spring of my heart, and the light of my chest, and a remover of my grief, and a banisher of my worries.

Allahumma inni 'abduk, ibnu 'abdik, ibnu amatik, nasiyati biyadika, madin fiyya hukmuk, 'adlun fiyya qada'uk, as'aluka bikulli ismin huwa lak, sammayta bihi nafsak, aw anzaltahu fi kitabi-k, aw 'allamtahu ahadan min khalqik, aw ista'tharta bihi fi 'ilmil-ghaybi 'indak, an taj'ala al-Qur'ana rabi'a qalbi, wa nura sadri, wa jala'a huzni, wa dhahaba hammi.

Source & Authentication

Al-Tufayl ibn 'Amr al-Dawsi (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (ﷺ) taught me a dua to say when I sleep or wake up, and he told me to say: 'Allahumma inni as'aluka fi'l-hauda wa'l-taqwa... (O Allah, I ask You for guidance, piety, chastity, and freedom from want).' The Prophet (ﷺ) said to him: 'O Tufayl, learn this dua and teach it.' So I learned two utterances and learned a thousand utterances from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). And I remembered the dua of the Prophet (ﷺ) for the worries of a man: 'Allahumma inni 'abduk, ibnu 'abdik, ibnu amatik, nasiyati biyadika...' (O Allah, I am Your servant... until 'and a banisher of my worries'). The narrator said: 'The Companion said: 'So I said it, and Allah removed my worry and my grief, and He made it easy for me to learn the Qur'an.'
