This beautiful and concise dua is recommended to be recited when exiting the masjid after having prayed there. It's a moment to transition from the spiritual atmosphere of the mosque back into our daily lives, while carrying the remembrance of Allah with us.
How to Read
Recite this dua once, with sincerity and awareness of its meaning. It's a supplication for Allah's abundant favor, acknowledging that all blessings flow from Him.
Virtues & Benefits
This dua encapsulates a profound understanding of tawakkul (reliance on Allah) and hope in His endless generosity. By asking 'of Your bounty,' we acknowledge that whatever good we receive, whether it's worldly provisions or spiritual rewards, is from Allah's grace. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us this supplication, showing its importance as we leave the place of worship, to ensure our hearts remain connected to Allah and His favors even outside the masjid.
Source & Authentication
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: 'When one of you finishes his prayer and then says: Allahumma inni as'aluka min fadlik, he has taken hold of the handle of its (i.e., the prayer's) handle.' (Sahih Muslim 1300a). Another narration adds: 'When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ finished his prayer, he would say: Allahumma inni as'aluka min fadlik.' (Sahih Muslim 1300b). This implies it's a practice of the Prophet ﷺ after completing his prayers, including those offered in the masjid.
