اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ
O Allah, I ask You from Your bounty.
Allahumma inni as'aluka min fadlik
When to Read
This beautiful supplication is specifically taught for the moment you are leaving the Masjid, especially after prayer. It acknowledges that whatever good we hope for, be it spiritual closeness, acceptance of our worship, or even worldly blessings, ultimately comes from Allah's immense grace. Reciting it as you take your first steps away from the place of worship serves as a powerful reminder that our connection with Allah, and the blessings He bestows, doesn't end when we leave the Masjid.
How to Read
As you prepare to leave the Masjid, after completing your prayers or remembrance, take a moment. Face the Qiblah if possible, or simply turn towards the direction of leaving. Recite this short but profound dua with sincerity, focusing on the meaning: that all good is a gift from Allah. It's often accompanied by reciting the verse from the Quran: 'And when the prayer is finished, [and you all are dispersed] through the land, seek [also] of the bounty of Allah...' (Al-Jumu'ah 61:10).
Virtues & Benefits
This dua encapsulates a deep understanding of Tawhid (Oneness of Allah) and His attribute of Al-Fattah (The Opener of the way) and Ar-Razzaq (The Provider). It teaches us to rely on Allah alone for all our needs, both spiritual and material, and to understand that seeking His bounty is an act of worship in itself. It fosters contentment and hope, shifting any potential feeling of longing or 'heaviness' from leaving a spiritually charged place to an anticipation of Allah's continued blessings in our daily lives. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ himself would often seek Allah's bounty upon leaving the Masjid, teaching us by his action that our spiritual journey continues outside its walls.

Narrated Tariq bin Ashyam: I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) say: 'When anyone of you performs the prayer and finishes it, he should then praise Allah as He deserves to be praised, and then supplicate to Allah for His favors, and then glorify Allah with what is appropriate, and then supplicate again for His favors, and then glorify Allah with what is appropriate, and then supplicate again for His favors. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'If one of you does that, he has indeed completed his prayer and fulfilled what Allah has ordained for him, and he has sought from Allah what He has ordained for him, and he has sought from Allah what He has.' And he recited this verse: 'And when the prayer is finished, [and you all are dispersed] through the land, seek [also] of the bounty of Allah...' (Al-Jumu'ah 61:10). — Sahih Muslim 1304
