This dua is recommended to be recited upon leaving the masjid, after completing your prayers. It's a moment when you're transitioning back into the wider world, and asking Allah to bless you with His bounty and sustenance is a beautiful way to seek His continued favor throughout your day.
How to Read
Recite this dua after you have finished your prayers and are preparing to exit the masjid. It's customary to exit with your right foot first, and this dua is said as you are leaving the prayer area or the masjid itself. It’s a personal supplication, so say it with sincerity and focus on the meaning.
Virtues & Benefits
This supplication is an expression of reliance on Allah for provision and success. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us to ask Allah for His grace, acknowledging that all good things come from Him. By making this dua upon leaving the house of Allah, we are essentially asking Him to extend the blessings we received in the masjid into our daily lives, which can include seeking opportunities to earn a lawful living, finding ease in our affairs, and receiving help in practicing patience and good character in our interactions outside.

Narrated Ibn Abbas: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "I have been given the keys to the whole of the earth..." Then he mentioned that he was brought a vessel of dates, and he ate some of it and then said: "The Day of Resurrection will not be established until the Roman lands are opened to you..." Then he mentioned a tradition like that of Abu al-Shamal, but he added: "And when you have finished the prayer, say: 'Allahumma inni as'aluka min fadlik' (O Allah, I ask You of Your grace)."
