اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ
O Allah, I ask You from Your bounty.
Allahumma inni as'aluka min fadlik
When to Read
This dua is recited when exiting the Masjid, particularly when one has a specific need or decision to make. It’s a beautiful way to transition from the spiritual atmosphere of the mosque back into worldly affairs, carrying the barakah of the prayer with you and seeking Allah’s help in navigating life’s choices.
How to Read
Recite this dua after completing your prayer in the Masjid and before you step out. It is recommended to exit with your right foot, just as you would enter with your left foot. The intention is to actively seek Allah's blessings and guidance for whatever lies ahead.
Virtues & Benefits
This simple yet profound dua connects the act of leaving the place of worship with seeking Allah's provision and favor. It reminds us that all blessings come from Him and that even after fulfilling our obligations, we should continue to turn to Him for our needs. By asking for Allah's bounty, we are essentially asking for His guidance, success, and provision in all matters, including important decisions we may face outside the Masjid.
Source & Authentication
It was narrated from Ibn Mas'ud that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'When one of you leaves the mosque, let him say: Allahumma inni as'aluka min fadlik. For indeed, Allah has decreed something for you in your leaving that is in it (i.e., that will come to you in your leaving).' Narrated by Muslim and Abu Dawud, and Ibn Majah with a slightly different wording.
