Leaving Masjid
Hasan HadithSunan Abi Dawud 568

In the name of Allah, and prayers and peace be upon the Messenger of Allah. O Allah, I ask You of Your bounty. O Allah, protect me from the accursed Satan.

Bismillah, was-salatu was-salamu 'ala Rasulillah. Allahumma inni as'aluka min fadlik. Allahumma 'asimli minash-shaytanir-rajim.

When to Read

This dua is recited immediately after completing your prayer and intending to leave the masjid. It's a beautiful way to carry the sanctity of the mosque with you as you re-enter the world, asking for Allah's continued grace and protection.

How to Read

Recite this supplication with sincerity, preferably while still in your prayer spot or as you rise to leave. Begin by remembering Allah's name and sending blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ. Then, humbly ask Allah for His immense grace and protection from worldly distractions and the whispers of Shaytan.

Virtues & Benefits

This dua encapsulates a profound request. By asking for Allah's bounty ('fadl'), we acknowledge that all good comes from Him and seek His continuous blessings in our lives outside the masjid. The plea for protection from Shaytan (''asimli minash-shaytanir-rajim') is a recognition of our ongoing need for divine safeguard against evil influences and temptations that can pull us away from righteousness once we leave the spiritual environment of the mosque.

Allahumma inni as'aluka min fadlik. Allahumma 'asimli minash-shaytanir-rajim.' (In the name of Allah, and prayers and peace be upon the Messenger of Allah. O Allah, I ask You of Your bounty. O Allah, protect me from the accursed Satan). This hadith is narrated by Abu Dawud (568) and Ibn Majah (771) and graded as Hasan by scholars.
