اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ
O Allah, I ask of You from Your bounty.
Allahumma inni as'aluka min fadlik
When to Read
This dua is recited when leaving the Masjid after praying, particularly after Fajr or Maghrib prayers, as taught by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. It's a beautiful reminder that our connection with Allah doesn't end when we exit His house, but rather we carry His presence and seek His blessings as we re-enter our daily lives.
How to Read
Recite this dua with sincerity as you step out of the Masjid. It's often recommended to step out with your right foot first, mirroring the etiquette of entering with the left. This simple utterance acknowledges that all provision and grace come from Allah alone.
Virtues & Benefits
This dua teaches us humility and reliance on Allah (Tawakkul). By asking 'from Your bounty,' we acknowledge that anything good we receive is a gift from Him. It reinforces the idea that the spiritual connection fostered in the Masjid should permeate our worldly dealings, reminding us to seek permissible sustenance and success through Allah's grace. The Prophet ﷺ also taught a similar dua for seeking knowledge when leaving the Masjid, showing the importance of carrying the purpose of the Masjid into our actions outside.
