إِذَا خَرَجَ أَحَدُكُمْ مِنَ الْمَسْجِدِ فَلْيَقُلْ: «اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ»
O Allah, I ask You from Your bounty.
*Allahumma inni as'aluka min fadlik*
When to Read
This beautiful supplication is recited when leaving any masjid. It's a powerful moment to connect with Allah as you transition from a place of worship back into the world. It's especially poignant as a reminder of our need for Allah's grace in all aspects of our lives, including protection from trials.
How to Read
Recite this dua once with sincerity after you have taken your steps to exit the masjid. It's often said after completing the obligatory prayers or other acts of worship performed within the masjid. Turn your heart towards Allah, acknowledging that all blessings and protection come from Him alone.
Virtues & Benefits
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us this dua to remind us that all our sustenance, blessings, and protection are ultimately from Allah's infinite grace. By asking for His bounty upon leaving the place of worship, we are essentially seeking His continued favor and guidance in navigating the world outside. This act also cultivates a sense of humility and reliance on Allah, recognizing that our successes are not solely due to our own efforts but are gifts from our Creator. While this specific hadith focuses on seeking bounty, the principle extends to seeking Allah's protection in all our endeavors. The broader context of leaving the masjid is a moment to seek refuge and blessings from Allah as we re-enter our daily lives, which inherently includes safeguarding ourselves from trials like the Dajjal, as taught in other traditions associated with leaving the masjid.
