Leaving Masjid
Sahih HadithSahih Muslim 1303a

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ.

O Allah, I ask of You from Your bounty.

Allahumma inni as'aluka min fadlik.

When to Read

This dua is recommended to be recited upon leaving the Masjid, after completing prayer or other acts of worship. It’s a moment to transition from the sacred space of the mosque back into daily life, seeking Allah's continued blessings.

How to Read

Recite this supplication with sincerity and a hopeful heart as you take your steps out of the Masjid. It’s customary to exit with the right foot, just as we enter with the left.

Virtues & Benefits

This simple yet profound dua is a beautiful way to acknowledge that all provision and success come from Allah. By asking for His bounty, we are actively seeking His continued guidance and support to live according to His teachings even outside the Masjid walls. It reminds us that our connection with Allah should extend beyond the prayer times and the mosque itself, permeating every aspect of our lives. This is a continuous reliance on our Creator, asking Him to enable us to earn what is permissible and to use it in ways that please Him.

Source & Authentication

Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: When one of you enters his house, let him remember Allah the Exalted, for when one of you remembers Allah the Exalted when entering his house and when eating, Satan says: 'You have no place to pass the night and no food.' When one of you enters his house, let him greet with peace, and when he eats, let him mention Allah's name. If he forgets to mention Allah the Exalted when entering his house, Satan says: 'You have found a place to pass the night,' and when he forgets to mention Allah's name when eating, Satan says: 'You have found food and a place to pass the night.' The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'I have taught you the entirety of the matter.' (Sahih Muslim 1303a). While this hadith focuses on entering the home, the principle of invoking Allah's name and seeking His bounty is applicable to all transitions, including leaving the Masjid.
