بِسْمِ اللَّهِ، تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَى اللَّهِ، وَلاَ حَوْلَ وَلاَ قُوَّةَ إِلاَّ بِاللَّهِ
In the name of Allah, I place my trust in Allah. And there is no might nor power except with Allah.
Bismillahi, tawakkaltu 'alallahi, wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa billah.
When to Read
This beautiful dua is recited when leaving the Masjid, after you have completed your prayer and remembrance of Allah. It signifies your intention to go out into the world, seeking your livelihood and engaging in your daily affairs, all while acknowledging that your success and ability come solely from Allah. It's a transition from the sacred space of worship back to the practicalities of life, carrying the blessings of the Masjid with you.
How to Read
Recite this dua immediately after stepping out of the Masjid doors. It's recommended to say it with sincerity and a clear intention, remembering that you are embarking on your day under Allah's protection and guidance. Some narrations mention saying 'O Allah, I seek refuge in You from going astray or causing others to go astray, or from slipping or causing others to slip, or from wronging or being wronged, or from behaving foolishly or having foolishness done to me.' after this initial dua, which adds another layer of comprehensive seeking of protection.
Virtues & Benefits
Reciting this dua when leaving the Masjid has profound benefits. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said that when one says this, it is said to them: 'You have been guided, you have been sufficed, and you have been protected.' Thus, the devil moves away from them. (Sunan Abi Dawud 5095). This means by uttering these words, you are essentially calling upon Allah's divine guidance for your steps, His sufficiency to meet your needs, and His protection against any harm or misguidance as you venture out.

Narrated by Abdullah bin Rumaythah bin Ayyub, from his father, from his grandfather: The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "When a person goes out of his house and says: 'Bismillahi, tawakkaltu 'alallahi, wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa billah,' it will be said to him: 'You have been guided, you have been sufficed, and you have been protected.' The Satan will be distanced from him." [Sunan Abi Dawud 5095. Graded Hasan by Al-Albani]
