Virtues & Benefits
This dua is a profound expression of humility and reliance on Allah alone. By starting with 'Bismillah' (In the name of Allah) and sending blessings upon the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, we follow the Sunnah. The core of the dua, 'Allahumma inni as'aluka min fadlik' (O Allah, I ask You from Your grace), highlights our need for Allah's boundless favor. We acknowledge that our worship, no matter how sincere, is accepted only through His mercy and grace. It is a reminder that true success in worship comes from Allah's acceptance, not just our own perceived effort. This asking for 'fadl' (grace/bounty) encompasses all forms of goodness, both worldly and in the hereafter.
