بِسْمِ اللَّهِ، تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَى اللَّهِ، وَلاَ حَوْلَ وَلاَ قُوَّةَ إِلاَّ بِاللَّهِ
In the name of Allah, I place my trust in Allah. And there is no might nor power except with Allah.
Bismillahi, tawakkaltu 'alallah, wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa billah
When to Read
This dua is recited when stepping out of your home, especially when facing a situation that feels like a setback or might lead to discouragement. It's a powerful reminder that even when we step out with a heavy heart or the anticipation of difficulty, our reliance is ultimately on Allah.
How to Read
Recite this dua clearly and with conviction as you are about to leave your home. Understand that each word carries immense meaning: 'Bismillahi' anchors you in Allah's name, 'tawakkaltu 'alallah' signifies your complete reliance on Him, and 'wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa billah' affirms that no change or strength occurs except by His will. This isn't just a ritual; it's an active declaration of faith.
Virtues & Benefits
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ promised great protection to those who recite this dua upon leaving their home. It is reported that when a person says this, it is said to them: 'You are guided, defended, and protected.' Satan moves away from them, saying: 'How can you get to a man who is guided, defended, and protected by Allah?' This dua shields you from discouragement, doubt, and the whispers of Shaytan that seek to magnify perceived setbacks and make you feel overwhelmed.
