โœฆ

In the name of Allah, I place my trust in Allah. There is no might nor power except with Allah.

Bismillahi, tawakkaltu 'alallah, wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa billah

When to Read

This dua is recited when leaving one's home, particularly for significant journeys like seeking medical treatment abroad. It's a powerful way to invoke Allah's protection and guidance as you embark on a path that requires immense trust in Him, especially when facing health challenges far from home.

How to Read

Recite this supplication with sincerity and conviction as you step out of your home. It is recommended to say it after uttering 'Bismillah' (In the name of Allah) before starting your journey. Visualize Allah's protection surrounding you.

Virtues & Benefits

This supplication is a comprehensive declaration of reliance on Allah. The Prophet Muhammad ๏ทบ taught that whoever says this when leaving their home, it will be said to them: 'You are guided, defended, and protected. The devil will stay away from you, for he will say to another devil: 'How can you get to a man who has been guided, defended and is protected?' (Abu Dawud 5095 - Hasan). This journey, especially for treatment, is a time when one needs guidance, defense, and protection the most.

Source & Authentication

Narrated Anas: The Prophet (๏ทบ) said, 'When a man goes out of his house, he says: 'Bismillahi tawakkaltu 'alallahi wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa billahi.' (I start with the Name of Allah; I trust in Allah; there is no power nor energy except with Allah.) Then it will be said to him: 'You have been sufficed, defended and guided.' And the devil will go far from him. Another devil will say to him: 'What do you want with a man whom he has been sufficed, defended and guided?'
