Source & Authentication
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: 'Whoever says this dua upon stopping in a place, 'A'udhu bikalimatillahit-tammati min sharri ma khalaq' (I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He has created), nothing will harm him until he moves on from that place.' (Sahih Muslim 2708). Although the hadith specifically mentions stopping in a place, its general meaning of seeking refuge makes it applicable to entering a new home.
