اللَّهُمَّ انْفَعْنِي بِمَا عَلَّمْتَنِي وَعَلِّمْنِي مَا يَنْفَعُنِي وَزِدْنِي عِلْمًا

Ibn Majah narrated from Shaqiq (who said): 'Abdullah (bin Mas'ud) said: 'We used to be told when we learned ten verses from the Prophet (ﷺ), we would not learn the next ten until we understood their meanings and their application.' Then he narrated from Ibn Mas'ud that he said: 'The Prophet (ﷺ) said: 'There is no envy except for two men: a man whom Allah taught the Quran, so he stands with it reciting it all night and day, and a man whom Allah gave wealth, so he spends it all night and day (in charity).' Then Ibn Mas'ud said: 'Allahumma inna nas'aluka 'ilman nafi'an', and he taught them: 'Allahumma-nf'ani bima 'allamtani wa 'allimni ma yanfa'uni wa zidni 'ilman'. (O Allah, benefit me by what You have taught me, teach me that which will benefit me, and increase me in knowledge).
