Source & Authentication
It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "...And Allah will grant a servant of His, from the knowledge, only a little. So whoever fears Allah is safe, and whoever does not, his knowledge does not increase him except in distance (from Allah)." Then he mentioned a similar narration and said: "Allahumma infa'ni bima 'allamtani, wa 'allimni ma yanfa'uni, wa zidni 'ilma. (O Allah, benefit me with what You have taught me, and teach me that which will benefit me, and increase me in knowledge.)"
