اللَّهُمَّ انْفَعْنِي بِمَا عَلَّمْتَنِي، وَعَلِّمْنِي مَا يَنْفَعُنِي، وَزِدْنِي عِلْمًا

O Allah, benefit me with what You have taught me, teach me that which will benefit me, and increase me in knowledge.

Allahumma-nfa'ni bima 'allamtani, wa 'allimni ma yanfa'uni, wa zidni 'ilma

When to Read

This dua is perfect to recite before starting any study session, attending a lecture, reading an Islamic book, or even when beginning a new subject. It's also beneficial to say it regularly, perhaps after Fajr prayer, to constantly seek Allah's guidance in your pursuit of knowledge.

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Seek knowledge, and act upon what you have learned, and Allah will grant you the reward of a hundred martyrs.' It was narrated from Zaid bin Thabit that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Indeed, this knowledge is of religion, so be careful how you take your religion.' It was narrated from Ibn Mas'ud that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'The best of what is said is the Book of Allah. The best of guidance is the guidance of Muhammad (ﷺ). The most evil of affairs are their newly invented matters. Every innovation is misguidance.' It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to say: 'O Allah, benefit me with what You have taught me, and teach me that which will benefit me, and increase me in knowledge.'
