It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Seek refuge in Allah from the evil of this world and the evil of what is to come.' Then he said: 'O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the evil of what you have decreed.' Then he said: 'O Allah, grant me beneficial knowledge, increase me in knowledge, and grant me righteous deeds.' Then he said: 'O Allah, I ask You for guidance, piety, chastity, and self-sufficiency.' Then he said: 'O Allah, I ask You for the removal of all ills, for a strong will, for patience in the face of trials, for gratitude for blessings, and for good remembrance of You. Indeed, You know the unseen.' Then he said: 'O Allah, I ask You for the best that You know, and for protection from the evil that You know, and for the best that You have decreed.' Then he said: 'O Allah, make me pleased with Your decree, and grant blessings in what is appointed for me, so that I do not desire to hasten what You have delayed or delay what You have hastened.' Then he said: 'O Allah, grant me strength to remember You, to be grateful to You, and to worship You well.' Then he said: 'O Allah, I ask You for a sound heart, a truthful tongue, and the forgiveness of my sins. I ask You for contentment with what You have bestowed upon me, and for good health. I ask You for a strong faith, a trustworthy heart, the best religion, and the best worldly success and success in the Hereafter. I ask You for success in achieving mercy, determination to follow guidance, and the best of deeds and the best of rewards. I ask You to make my scales heavy with good deeds, to confirm my faith, and to raise my status, and to accept my prayers. O Allah, I ask You for the highest Paradise and its pleasantries, and for the words of truth in this world and the Hereafter. O Allah, I ask You for what is good, and for what is good in this world and the Hereafter, and for what is good in this life, and for what is good in the Hereafter.' Then he said: 'O Allah, You are the Knower of the unseen, the Creator of the heavens and the earth, Who knows what is hidden and what is apparent. O Lord of everything and its Possessor, I bear witness that there is no god but You. I seek refuge in You from the evil of myself and from the evil of the Shaitan and his polytheism, and from the evil of all that which we might encounter with evil.'
