Virtues & Benefits

It asks for the ability to not only be guided oneself but also to guide others towards the truth. This signifies a comprehensive growth in understanding and application, transforming life's lessons into a source of spiritual elevation and benefit to the community.

Source & Authentication

Al-Hasan Al-Basri (may Allah have mercy on him) said: 'O people, accept the advice. For indeed, no person is created more knowledgeable than he who is knowledgeable of Allah. And know that the most knowledgeable of people regarding Allah is the most fearful of Him. And indeed, the most humble of people regarding Allah is the most knowledgeable of Him. And the most knowledgeable of people regarding Allah is the most eager in seeking what is with Allah. Hasan Al-Basri narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'A believer is not struck by a thorn, or something greater than that, except that Allah forgives him a degree because of it, and it is raised one degree for him.' 'Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: 'The believer sees his sins as if they are at the bottom of a mountain, fearing that they will fall upon him. The disbeliever sees his sins as if they are like flies on his nose, they pass by him like so.' Al-Hasan Al-Basri said: 'The son of Adam has been brought down from Paradise because of a single sin, and you commit sins every day? And you are ashamed of the people, but not ashamed of Allah? And you are humble before the people, but not humble before Allah? And you seek to please the people with your actions, but you do not seek to please Allah with your actions? And you are shy before the people when they see you doing evil, but you do not feel shy before Allah when you are alone? And someone said to Al-Hasan Al-Basri: 'O Abu Sa'id, what is the best thing that we can take refuge in?' He said: 'Indeed, the best refuge is in Allah. And when you pray, then seek refuge in Allah from the evil of your souls. And ask Allah to teach you, for indeed, Allah says: "And say: My Lord, increase me in knowledge." [20:114] And Al-Hasan Al-Basri would say: 'O Allah, teach me from Your knowledge, and make me guide who is guided.' He said: 'This is a Hasan Hadith, and we know it only from this chain.'
