Narrated Ibn 'Abbas: The Prophet (ﷺ) slept and then woke up saying, 'Glory be to Allah! What have I seen (tonight)?' I asked, 'What have you seen, O Messenger of Allah?' He said, 'I saw (in a dream) as if Allah, the Blessed and the Exalted, was standing before me and I was asked, 'What do you say (to the angels)?' I said, 'I ask Allah for His forgiveness and for safety (from all evils).' Then he said, 'The two thieves who stole from the family of 'Uthman are still in the fire.' He added, 'I saw (in a dream) as if a cup of milk was brought to me and I drank (from it) to my fill, then I gave the rest to 'Umar.' The narrator said, 'What did you drink from?' He said, 'I saw it as if it was milk (flowing in a stream).' The Prophet (ﷺ) said, 'This is the (religious) knowledge which Allah has taught me.' And it is narrated from 'Abdullah bin 'Abbas that he said: 'O Allah, make me one who understands religion and teach me the interpretation of dreams.' (Sahih al-Bukhari 6306)
