Virtues & Benefits

This powerful supplication, taught by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, directly asks Allah for 'beneficial knowledge' (ʿilman nāfiʿan). This encompasses not just academic or worldly knowledge, but crucially, knowledge that brings you closer to Allah, helps you understand His Book, and guides your actions. By asking for this specific type of knowledge, you are inviting divine inspiration to unlock the deeper, hidden meanings within the Quran, enabling you to reflect upon its verses with fresh insight. The inclusion of 'goodly provision' and 'acceptable deeds' rounds out the request, showing that true learning leads to righteous action and a life pleasing to Allah. This holistic approach ensures that your pursuit of Quranic understanding is not just intellectual, but also spiritual and practical.
