اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا، وَرِزْقًا طَيِّبًا، وَعَمَلًا مُتَقَبَّلًا
O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, good provision, and acceptable deeds.
Allahumma inni as'aluka 'ilman nafi'an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa 'amalan mutaqabbalan.
When to Read
This is a powerful dua the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ would often make after Fajr (dawn) prayer. Imagine the quiet moments just after waking, as the world begins to stir. It's the perfect time to align your intentions for the day with seeking Allah's blessings for knowledge that truly benefits, sustenance that is pure, and actions that are accepted.
How to Read
Recite this with sincerity, raising your hands slightly as you would in supplication. Feel the weight of each word, truly asking Allah (Glory be to Him) for these three essential elements of a blessed life. Consistency is key, so try to make it a habit after Fajr prayer, making it a cornerstone of your daily spiritual routine.
Virtues & Benefits
This dua encapsulates a profound request for a balanced and righteous life. * **Beneficial Knowledge ('Ilman Nafi'an):** This isn't just about accumulating facts, but about knowledge that guides you, keeps you firm on the Deen, and helps you understand your purpose. It's knowledge that leads to action and brings you closer to Allah. * **Good Provision (Rizqan Tayyiban):** This encompasses lawful and pure sustenance, free from haram elements, which nourishes both body and soul. It's also about seeking a blessing in what Allah provides, whether it's wealth, health, or family. * **Acceptable Deeds ('Amalan Mutaqabbalan):** This is the ultimate goal – that our acts of worship and good deeds are accepted by Allah. It means performing them with sincerity (ikhlas), according to the Sunnah, and with humility. By asking for these three, we're essentially asking for guidance, provision, and acceptance in all aspects of our lives, reflecting a holistic approach to worship and worldly affairs.

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that when the Prophet ﷺ greeted the morning, he would say: > **Arabic:** اللَّهُمَّ بِكَ أَصْبَحْنَا، وَبِكَ نُمْسِي، وَبِكَ نَحْيَا، وَبِكَ نَمُوتُ، وَإِلَيْكَ النُّشُورُ. وَكَانَ يَقُولُ إِذَا أَصْبَحَ: «اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا، وَرِزْقًا طَيِّبًا، وَعَمَلًا مُتَقَبَّلًا» > **Translation:** 'O Allah, by Your leave we have reached the morning and by Your leave we shall reach the evening. By Your leave we shall live and by Your leave we shall die, and to You will be the rising again.' And when he reached the evening, he would say: 'O Allah, by Your leave we have reached the evening and by Your leave we have reached the morning. By Your leave we shall live and by Your leave we shall die, and to You will be the destination.' And when he reached the morning, he would say: 'O Allah, I ask You for knowledge that is beneficial, and provision that is pure, and deeds that are accepted.' — Sunan Ibn Majah 925.
