Dua for the Strength to Fulfill the Trust of Hajj and Umrah

Hajj & Umrah
Hasan HadithSunan At-Tirmidhi 3203

O Allah, I ask You for the ability to do good deeds, to abandon evil deeds, and to love the poor. I ask You to forgive me and have mercy on me. And when You intend to put a people to trial, take me to Yourself without subjecting me to that trial. And I ask You for Your love, and the love of those who love You, and the love of deeds which bring me closer to Your love.

Allahumma inni as'aluka fi'la khayrat, wa tark al-munkarat, wa hubb al-masakin, wa an taghfira li wa tarhamani, wa idha aradta fitnata qawmin fa tawaffani ilayha ghayra maftun. Wa as'aluka hubbak, wa hubba man yuhibbuk, wa hubba 'amalin yuqarribuni ila hubbik.

Source & Authentication

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) taught this supplication to Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) when he asked him to teach him words to say. It was narrated that Abu Dharr said: I said, 'O Messenger of Allah, teach me something that will benefit me.' He said: 'O Abu Dharr, say: Allahumma inni as'aluka fi'la khayrat, wa tark al-munkarat, wa hubb al-masakin, wa an taghfira li wa tarhamani, wa idha aradta fitnata qawmin fa tawaffani ilayha ghayra maftun. Wa as'aluka hubbak, wa hubba man yuhibbuk, wa hubba 'amalin yuqarribuni ila hubbik.' (O Allah, I ask You for the ability to do good deeds, to abandon evil deeds, and to love the poor.
